A pixel to stitch recreation for the world’s most famous plumber.
In celebration of Mario’s most recent big screen appearance in the new Super Mario Brothers movie, Red Wing collaborated with Nintendo and Illumination films to create Mario’s first pair of boots in the real world. As only Red Wing would, the boots were meticulously crafted by hand. They were revealed on Mario Day (March 10th) at the Nintendo Flagship store in NY — and the world took notice. This effort created over $13 million in earned media coverage via 75+ media hits, including: Fast Company, Hypebeast, Complex, CBS, The Verge, and many others.
